Launching Ministry in Jordan and Lebanon

Early in the biblical story of Genesis, we see external factors affecting the people of God. These factors created whole new twists and turns in God’s dealing with people. Turmoil specifically envelopes the family of Jacob, ending with the brothers selling Joseph off into Egypt. Shortly thereafter, drought and famine descend on the region. Joseph is brought to power in Egypt and the people of God relocate there under Joseph’s care and protection. God works through the events of this world, often in dramatic fashion.

Serving Children in the Middle East

We see this today in the Middle East. The conflicts in Iraq and Syria have created an enormous upheaval in the population. As we speak, there are over 3 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Jordan has welcomed a similar number of refugees from both Syria and Iraq. Unlike the past, the new narrative is not one of American military activity causing suffering and pain to the Muslim community. Today, it is Muslims against Muslims.

Every church in Lebanon and Jordan has a refugee ministry to children and families. We have consistently heard that due to these relocations and the subsequent breakdown of the Muslim community pressure, people are turning to Christ in large numbers. Churches in Lebanon and Jordan have asked for our help in providing training and Bible teaching materials to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to boys and girls in their countries.

Working With Those Already Working

In response to God’s love for children and His Church in Jordan and Lebanon, and in partnership with our EGM-Egypt ministry, the Board of Directors of Every Generation Ministries has prayerfully decided to launch new ministry work in both countries. We have completed two years of field research and meetings with numerous church leaders across both countries. We have called a group of leaders in Jordan and Lebanon and have begun the process of launching both ministries. The Arabic programs and teaching materials developed in Egypt will allow us to move forward in an expeditious manner.

Please join us in celebrating this good news! We are praying that God will use the turmoil and strife present in the Middle East to cause more children to experience the love of Christ and the new of life of peace, hope, forgiveness and purpose He has for them.
