Ministry Spotlight: DRC

There are places where ministry continues even when the circumstances are heavy.

In the DRC, war, displacement, disease, and instability continue to create uncertainty for many families and communities. Churches in Eastern DRC are serving in a region where peace feels fragile, where new challenges continue to rise, and where daily life is often marked by hardship.

And yet, God is still at work.

Through EGM-DRC, church leaders are being equipped, parents are being encouraged, and children are hearing about the hope found in Jesus. In the last six months, the ministry has strengthened relationships with 142 churches, including 83 new church partnerships.

More than 300 leaders have participated in DiscipleMakers training, and pastors, parents, and children’s ministry leaders are being equipped to care for children with wisdom, love, and faithfulness.

One story from Pastor Rodain Simba, who received training from EGM-DRC, shows how God can use children’s ministry to reach an entire family.

Three siblings faithfully attended the church’s children’s ministry each week, even though their parents did not yet know the Lord. When one of the children became sick, Pastor Rodain and other church leaders visited the family to pray. Later, the whole church gathered at their home as a simple but powerful expression of love.

The parents were deeply moved by the care shown to their children. Soon after, the mother began attending church, gave her life to Christ, was baptized, and now sings the church choir. She shared that if the church could love her children so deeply, she wanted to know that love for herself.

This is the beauty of intentional children’s ministry. When children are loved and discipled well, they can become a doorway for the whole family to experience the love of Christ.

The circumstances in the DRC remain difficult. But God is raising up DiscipleMakers, strengthening His Church, and drawing families to Himself through the faithful love of His people.

Please continue to pray for lasting peace in the DRC, protection and wisdom for the EGM-DRC team, and open doors for the Gospel, children’s discipleship, and church partnerships.
