Neema

In a local church in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Neema sat quietly listening to her Sunday school teacher share a lesson from the Bible. The lesson was about forgiveness. At the end of the lesson, the teacher told the children to think of people they had conflicts with and encouraged them to go to those people to ask them to forgive them. Feeling a tug at her heart, Neema immediately thought of her family and how they did not communicate with each other and would often fight. Then, she thought of her cousin, whom she had not spoken to for a long time because of a conflict. She went to her cousin and asked for forgiveness. Neema’s response to the Bible lesson brought reconciliation between them. As she continued to attend church and respond to God’s Word, the atmosphere in her home also began to change. Her family started to talk with one another, and their home became more peaceful. It is a tremendous joy to see that the transforming work that God started in Neema’s life is now working in the lives of her family.
